Meet the Future of ZK: ARC-0041 Contest
As the mainnet launch approaches, ensuring the security and reliability of the Aleo Network remains a top priority. Building a stable and secure platform is essential for establishing trust and enabling the development of world-class products. To achieve this, Aleo is excited to announce a partnership with Sherlock to host an audit contest focused on ARC-0041, running from June 10 to June 24. Participants can win a share of a $155,000 prize pool by identifying and describing code vulnerabilities in ARC-0041.
What is ARC-0041?
ARC-0041 includes the updated implementation of the credits.aleo program, introducing key protocol improvements to enhance the network’s usability. One of the major updates in ARC-0041 is the revised staking and delegating model. It introduces a function that allows users to delegate funds to activate a validator without giving up custody of their funds or compromising the security of their keys. This update is crucial for the future functionality and security of the Aleo Network.
How to Participate
The contest is open to anyone interested in shaping a ZK-first future and ready for a challenge. Participants will review the ARC-0041 code and propose critical improvements.
Participants have the opportunity to earn a share of the $125,000 prize pool, with individual rewards determined algorithmically based on the number, severity, and rarity of their submissions. After the contest ends on June 24, Sherlock’s expert judges will evaluate the vulnerabilities and distribute the payouts a few weeks later.
To participate, review the full guide to Sherlock audit contests and the contest handbook, which is especially helpful for those new to Aleo. Registration is open on the contest page, and submissions can begin on June 10 at 3 PM UTC.
Renewing the Commitment to Security
This audit contest is part of a larger effort that includes over a dozen audits and bug bounty programs completed during the four years of Aleo’s development. These initiatives are vital for ensuring the security of the codebase. With Sherlock’s expertise and their network of auditors, Aleo aims to identify and address potential vulnerabilities, ensuring the platform remains safe and reliable. This partnership could also provide a framework for auditing future changes to the codebase.
Join the Audit Contest X Space
To learn more about how to get involved, join Alex Pruden from Aleo, and Jack Sanford and Scott Gralnick from Sherlock during the Audit Contest X Space on June 10 at 7:30 AM PT. They will share insights on the contest and how participants can make a significant impact on the Aleo Network.
Ready to get started? Register on the contest page and prepare to submit your vulnerabilities starting June 10 at 3 PM UTC. Help shape the future of zero-knowledge proofs and the Aleo Network!
